This is the best way to set the timing belt tension when utilizing the stock hydraulic tensioner. Review your service manual for exact specifications, but normally the tension is set to 84 INCH pounds using this tool while tightening the pulley bolt and then verifying by rotating the engine 2 turns, letting it sit 5 minutes and making sure you can move the tensioner pull pin freely.
