Description
SCE Vulcan Cut-Ring Head Gaskets formerly Athena Gaskets
SCE Vulcan cut-ring head gaskets are hybrids forged to harness the best sealing properties of two head gasket types—composite and stainless steel. With no sealant needed, the pliable, perforated metal-core composite bodies eliminate coolant and oil leaks, while the solid stainless steel cut-rings “bite” into the cylinder head forming a positive barrier against combustion pressure leaks—without machining. SCE Vulcan cut-ring head gaskets are designed for use with high-static compression or forced-induction engines, which are prone to combustion pressure leaks when using typical composite or MLS head gaskets.
We are running these are the shop car and planning to push it hard! Thanks to James Merryman for developing these and Ray Pampena testing them to 700+AWHP WITH a 100 shot of nitrous on top.
Installation Info
We recommend customers to install these on an engine stand and put the bank you are working on at parallel to the Earth. Pay attention that the hoops are not disturbed and stay in line with the cylinders. The hoops are a formed part and can come out of the composite gasket, they can easily be re-installed, but take care installing. Damaged gaskets from installation carry no warranty.
You can use some copper spray or similar to help hold the gasket in place, but we are running the ones on our shop car dry, without any sealant. No leaks.
